Choosing a delectable bottle of wine to give as a gift is a perfect way to show those you care about that you put thought and consideration into the gesture. Wine is a great selection for a gift for many occasions such as holidays, celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries and special life events. Many may wonder how to choose that special bottle of wine to give to their loved ones, friends, in-laws and co-workers. There are a few easy steps that will guide you to choosing a memorable and thoughtful bottle of wine as a gift.

  • Choose Something Unique – Whether you are choosing a bottle of wine for a loved one or a new friend, you will want to choose a bottle that is either noteworthy or rare. This is what makes the gift special and unique. It doesn’t have to be necessarily expensive, but you do want to show you put thought into it, instead of just purchasing the lowest cost bottle of wine.
  • Hostess Gifts – When you attend your next dinner party, bring a delectable bottle of wine and present it to the hostess as a gift. If you know the menu ahead of time, choose a wine that will pair well with either the main dish or dessert or you can also choose to bring a wine that is a favorite of the hostess as well.
  • Anniversaries – If you are choosing a wine for your spouse, make it truly memorable. Try to choose your spouse’s favorite wine or a bottle that you may have enjoyed together during your years together. This is a perfect way to recall beautiful memories as you sip the wine together. If you are giving wine to a couple for their anniversary, you may give them one of their favorite wines, a wine from the country they spent their honeymoon in or the same type of wine they served at their wedding.
  • Make it Personal – The gift giver will want to make extra effort to remember special things about the recipient in order to choose a truly special bottle. Try to recall the recipient’s lifestyle, personality, travel interests or favorite food and choose a wine that pairs well.

In addition to choosing a truly special wine for the recipient, you will also want to present it in a special way. There are beautifully decorated bottle covers and bags for every occasion. You can also present the wine to the recipient by telling a memorable story from the past and the last time you both enjoyed the bottle together. Or, you can present the bottle with a simple gold or red bow on it and quietly offer the gift to the recipient.
